Unsung Heroines: Leading the Way

Hello, I’m Kiyara Wade— graduate from The University of Akron with a degree in Strategic and Organizational Communication, a minor in Marketing, and certifications in Social Media and Women’s Studies. My academic and leadership experiences have shaped a deep passion for advocating for women’s rights, especially in the workplace, where I aim to uplift, inspire, and create space for women to lead confidently and authentically.

During my time at Akron, I served as Vice President of Member Relations Media for the Women in Business organization. In that role, I had the opportunity to connect with inspiring women leaders, plan empowering events, and lead creative campaigns that centered women’s voices and stories. Whether through content creation, strategic communication, or community engagement, I’ve been focused on making a meaningful impact.

Now, as I step into the next chapter, I remain committed to advancing equity, creating professional growth, and continuing the conversations that move us forward. I believe every woman deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated—and I’m here to help make that happen.
